Asphalt Hike

We had all the right equipment when we set out to hike on the
Hunter Creek Trail

high above the streets of Aspen, Colorado

What we encountered instead

was an asphalt jungle

where signs on the trail made this hike very confusing So it wouldn't be a total waste of time...

...we all decided to

house hunt

have lunchand relax to a Tchaikovsky concerto

Our Visit With Brenda & Jack

Mt. Sopris rises 12,965 feet

above the Elk Mountains

overlooking Carbondale, ColoradoWe were guests of Brenda & Jack in their beautiful home on the River Valley Ranch Golf Course with Mt. Sopris as a gorgeous backdrop

We played a wonderful round of golf together

Then, we shared a glass of wine on the spectacular 5.5-acre property of Gene Adcock

Gene stands in front of 'Pizza Pond' with one of his many works of art. The name was derived from his design contribution to the famous California Pizza Kitchen restaurants which he partnered in the ownership of many years ago.

Staggered between the Aspen trees are his

life-sized sculptures

These two sit high above a

stream that borders his home

Pot O'Gold

Heading west on I-70

we encounter some inclement weather But the Red Sky Ranch awaits us

with live bluegrass & BBQ

So we stay for the music & the view
Lo and behold, we found a pot of gold
